10/13 DAING! (O what could have been...)

It is Week 6 of the Philly Pinoy Mixed Fall League (MFL), and Team BALUT is up against Team DAING, with Lanie, Jay and Joel D.  Team BALUT had their orange shirts on while Team DAING was decked in black.  Team BALUT was coming off its first winning week last week against Team GOTO (3.5-0.5, baby!), but Team DAING is the second ranked team, fighting for the top slot currently held by Team PISBOL.

We wanted to get hot early, as Team DAING is known to explode and collectively score above average.  It was hard to get our groove on the lanes though, and while we tried to keep it close, Team DAING and especially their hot anchor Joel D, was throwing their share of strikes.  So we conceded Game 1.  Keep fighting, Team BALUT!

And fight we did!  Game 2 was neck and neck from frame to frame, exciting!  Lowen was hot, hitting strikes and spares galore, whoo hoo!  Edmer was throwing his share of strikes, and I was happy to be getting marks (matipid sa strike!).  Lowen, Edmer and I each had strikes in the 9th frame: it was anybody's game going into the 10th frame.  That was when Edmer, the Bandidong Balut, showed his mettle and hit three strikes in a row, winning it for us!  I could not get my spare, but we still won the game by 7 pins.  OMG, we got a win, it is a tie, go team!  Sumipa and SISIW sa loob ng BALUT!

Game 3 was a battle of epic proportions, a fight to the finish!  The lanes were getting unpredictable, marks were harder to come by.  The curse of the open frame was befalling us all. But as luck would have it, as everyone got done, it fell on me to decide the ultimate outcome: three strikes in the 10th frame would win the game for Team BALUT.  My bowling angels were whispering words of encouragement, we can do this!  Alas, my first ball left two pins, so Game 3 goes to Team DAING.  I got my spare and my last ball was a strike, but it was not enough.  Mahirap talagang maglaro nang nakatitig kayo sa puwet ko....*hikbi*  DAING, that was much closer than the outcome reflects: Team BALUT will live to fight another day!  One win and three losses for Team BALUT, we are still in the bottom.  Great game, Team DAING!
