21Feb2015 Super Blue

O what a night for the Bowlinators! We were up against the Lords of the Lanes, we in our highlighter yellow fighting shirts, they in their Justice League gear.  The Bowlinators had jumped from 8th to 4th place in the past week, and with Week 6 marking the end of the first half of the league's 12 week schedule, we needed to start scrambling for position. The Lords seemed firmly entrenched in a commanding #2 position behind the #1 X- Men.  Anxiety and excitement filled the air, which was pregnant with possibility.  Time for a rhyme...

We reigned supreme 

Against a superhero team

The Lords' luck took flight

As we swept last night

Paul was striking like mad

Romy and I were mighty rad

Super Blue bowled like a pro

Laser focus with each throw

Raining strikes like a darn deluge

We built leads that were super huge

Bowlinators with powers blending

Bowling might firmly ascending

Up the ranks hopefully climbing

With luck and pluck and fortuitous timing

OMG, Super Blue was on fire!  Blue, Blue, Blue!!!  Strings of strikes, 650 series, he was amazing, amazing all night long!  Such focus, such finesse, what a night for Blue!  Supporting Blue all the way, playing way above his average with turkeys and doubles and spares galore was Bowlmeister Paul, burning up the lanes with his super hot play.  Romy was fabulous with two 200+ games.  Whoo hoo!  I was average and did not suck: go, my fantastic teammates!

We salute the Lords for their courageous play.  Alas it was not their day.  There were flashes of bowling brilliance there, and it got close in the third game, but a win was just not in the cards for them.

Lots of exciting matches last night, Week 6 of our Filipino Winter League. Team GAMR seemed destined to follow the Bowlinators for more position round matchups, sweeping the ghost team.  Team bALL In took three against Bowltes Four.  The Bowleros, with magic macaroni for Dennis's birthday, weaved magic on the lanes with three wins against the mighty X-Men.  The Pin Killers could only win one, and were killed by the barking BowlDawgs.

6.  13 pts: BowlDawgs

9.  10 pts: Bowltes Four

With such outcomes, the points won by our teams are now closer than ever, making the scheduled matches in our second half even more exciting and ripe with possibility.

Heart racing, fate facing

Switch places, dark phases

Luck is reversed

Nerves fraying, cool playing

Move as rehearsed

Strong teaming, smart scheming

Challenge well met

Rearranging, rank changing

Stage is now set

Next week the Bowlinators face yet one more formidable opponent: the X-Men.  May we Bowlinate once more...
